Alone By The Fire

Sitting all alone by an evening fire,
Imaging nights spend long ago.
Memories replay like an old movie,
Where did these good times go?

Staring into the flickering flames,
She doesn't really see the fire,
Her thoughts are lost on her youth.
What happened to all the desire?

Flickering flames on a summer night,
Easily doused by a gentle rain,
Just as her dreams and her love,
Had been suffocated by her pain.

Sitting all alone by an evening fire,
Reliving things she should forget,
She has grown older and wiser,
Maybe there's hope for her yet.
